Welcome to this first issue of CrimeWatchJournal.com. We hope you find it useful and informative. You will find it divided into several editions, and several sections. The editions are aimed at specific counties and carry local as well as national news. There are also articles written by attorneys to help you decide how to proceed. Currently we provide separate editions for Orange County, San Diego County, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.
In our
California Codes section you will find the complete listing of all California laws. Of course, these are provided as reference only and should not be relied on as legal advice, but it’s always helpful to know what the law says. For application of the law and interpretation of the law, you should seek the advice of an attorney. Our
local attorneys links will show you attorneys in your area who can help you with your specific legal problem.
If you are planning to have a few drinks before driving (or have already had a few), please check our
Drink Wheel, provided as a courtesy of Courtesy of
Intoximeters Inc. We don’t need to tell you the dangers of driving under the influence because you already know, but we need to put a disclaimer here. Do not use the DUI Wheel as a “push-it-to-the-limit” guide. If you have any doubt, don’t drive. On average, a DUI arrest will cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $10,000 before you’re done, including lost pay while you’re in jail, loss of license, fines, increased insurance, etc. You can buy a lot of taxi-fare for that kind of money.
If you think someone you know is in jail, you’re welcome to check the daily
Jail Registry provided by the local Sheriff.
Our
section is primarily dedicated to practicing attorneys and other law professionals. It contains Court Calendars for each county, and professional articles by attorneys to help other attorneys serve you better. There is also local news, including vital statistics of people arrested in each 24 hour period and the charges.
We are continually adding features, and improving those we already have, so check back often.
